The portal is closed and all the underclassmen that are going to the NFL have declared for the draft. This week I will be posting the All-Conference players from 2024 and note which ones are returning and which ones are gone. Now if an All-conference player has transferred to another conference, I list him as GONE even if they are returning to play college football in 2025. Yes, the transfer portal has made things tough to keep track of.

                  I realize that after the portal opens a second time in April some of these players will be moving on, but this is my February List. I am asking for your help. If you see a player that I have listed as coming back to his team this year and you know he is gone, please let me know. Also, if I list a player as lost but they are coming back also let me know.                   Here is the Big 12 and I have HIGHLIGHTED the returning players and they are in black type while the players that are no longer on their teams are in red type. In previous blogs I have pointed out that in this era of the transfer portal the Group of Five conferences took heavy hits not only losing seniors but losing their star players. The top G5 league had 8 1^st team players back. The Power 4 conferences have players leaving early for the NFL draft (more than the G5) so they have more but not a ton more of first teamers coming back. The Big 12 has nine 1^st team players back, nine 2^nd team and eight 3^rd team retuning.

                  Here are the Big Ten returning and lost all conference players. I have HIGHLIGHTED the returning players, and they are in black type while the players that are no longer on their teams are in red type. While the Big Ten only has seven 1^st team players back this year they have 13 2^nd team players returning which is the most of any conference I have profiled so far. They have also added all Conference players from other leagues which I will add into the numbers when I finish the page 28 chart in June. There are two players in 2^nd Team Emmanuel Pregnon who is colored RED because he left USC but is highlighted because he stayed in the conference with Oregon. Also 3^rd team Theran Johnson is RED because he left Northwestern but is highlighted because he stayed in the conference with Oregon.
