2017 Top 50 True Freshman OL’s and their Impact on the season.
Let us continue on the Top 50 true freshman list today with the offensive line. Here we will measure their impact on the season with how many games they started this past year.
On my 2017 Top 50 offensive lineman list only 10 (20%) players had at least 1 start on the season. Out of the 10 players only 2 were in my Top 10. Of the Top 50 only 18 (36%) played in at least 1 game last year. Only 3 players started every game for their team and 9 players at least played in every game.
Let look at the only 3 players that started in every game. PS# 15 Andrew Thomas of Georgia started all 15 games and received All Freshman AA honors from (FWAA, ESPN & USA today). PS#14 Jack Anderson of Texas Tech started all 13 games made Freshman AA (ESPN & USA today) marked the 1st time a Texas Tech OL was recognized as Frosh AA since 2013. Tennessee’s Trey Smith (PS#7) started all 12 games for the Vols with 2nd team all SEC.
