New to the magazine this year is the Homegrown Factor. When going over the teams with all the coaches it seemed to me that the teams that were built mostly with their own freshmen had the best success. Last year I made a home-grown chart to see what impact it had. Here is what I put in the magazine on page 93 this year.
As promised here is the complete chart listed from #1 to #138 for this year. It will be interesting to see how this chart fares again this year. Once column to note is the post spring transfer column. You will notice there were 7 teams that had 17+ players transfer in AFTER spring in Oklahoma St, Purdue, West Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Charlotte and FAU and all 7 had losing records. This year that column is practically blank as there was no second spring portal window. I also wanted to point out that Texas Tech last year hit the portal and made the playoff but they were also #5 on my Experience Chart so they returned a lot from the previous year.
This is part of the new box on each teams’ right-hand page in the magazine. Every team has their listed ranking but this chart shows you all 138 teams in order.
This years magazine is 376 pages and the biggest and best ever. Here are the different ways you can order the magazine.
Option #1 – Pick one up at your local Barnes and Noble or Books-a-Million store. When you go into a Barnes and Noble you get two different cover choices in each store! The official on sale date is July 4th but it is hitting some stores sooner. It is also available at Books-a-Million which all have the national cover. These two distributors are our exclusive vendors of the magazine, and they are not available at Walmart’s, Walgreens, Grocery Stores, other bookstores or drug stores so save your gas. If a player is added late (very rare) we put him in. Any changes to the team from the start of June thru the month of September is updated in the digital version.
