Back on July 7th, I did a blog on what the Schedule Predictor contains during the year, and we will be updating the Schedule Predictor weekly prior to the season and then Daily during the season. For more on the Schedule Predictor, here is the link to that blog.
This year’s schedule predicator is already updated with my Plus Minus Power Rating lines for every FBS vs FBS game, Collin Wilson’s lines on every game, FPI’s current numbers with my home field edge factored in and the Met Last year lines and scores from last year adjusted to this year with home field edges and the projected Vegas line on every game using the current Vegas power ratings.
Every year after I send the magazine to the press, I go thru every game for the upcoming season. I look at the matchups at the line of scrimmage and offense vs Defense. I look at how each teams fares on the road and at home. I look at the series history. I look at the technical angles like how teams do as a home dog or away favorite. I look at the situation to see if one team is playing their most important game of the month vs one that is in a letdown spot. I matchup up the coaches. I look at my 9 sets of power ratings and compare the different outcomes. At this point I make up my Preseason Line on which team I have favored and by how much.
