It has been a pretty mild winter here in Cleveland, but spring is just around the corner and every school is gearing up for the open of spring practices with a few schools already starting their spring sessions.
It is a full SIX months away from the start of football season, but that means it is time for me to project the 2020 Preseason AP Top 10!
Today I’m releasing my 2020 Projected AP Top 10, then in August I’ll release a blog giving you more detail on why I chose these 10 teams. It is important to make the point that this is NOT my preseason Top 10 for next season, rather what I am projecting the AP Top 10 will look like to start the season.
My predicted AP Top 10 has been a PERFECT 10 for 10 each of the last two years! When I predict the AP Top 10 in February/March (about a HALF YEAR ahead of the actual AP poll), I have now hit on 105 out of 110 over the last 11 years! That means hitting all 10 teams in six of the eleven years and missing by just one team in the other five years. Once again, predicting the top ten teams in the AP poll 5-6 MONTHS in advance, the record is now 105 out of 110 or 95.4%!
Here are the ten teams I feel will be in the 2020 AP Preseason top ten and over the last ten years 105 of my 110 Projected top ten teams in March made the actual top ten, so as I said earlier, I seem to have a pretty good feel for how the voters will rank these teams come August.
