2020 Top 50 True Freshman QB’s and their Impact on the Season.

Here is a look at the 2020 Top 50 true freshman quarterback signees and how many of them made an impact last year. Also listed below them are my Top 50 rated quarterbacks for 2021. Of the Top 50 quarterbacks last year 23 at least made 1 pass attempt. Of the 23 that played five stood out the most last season each with over 900 yards passing two of those players with over 1,500 yards. PS#46 Ken Seals was the best out of the frosh QB’s throwing for 1,928 yards and a 12-10 ratio. 2nd Jeff Sims (PS#16) from Georgia Tech throwing for 1,881 yards with a 13-13 ratio. Max Johnson (PS#14) of LSU was 3rd with 1,069 yards with 8-1 ratio. PS# 27 TJ Finley also from LSU rounds out the top 4 with 941 yards and a 5-5 ratio.

Usually when looking at true freshman quarterbacks you will see a lot of interceptions. The best ratio in this group came from LSU QB Max Johnson with a 8-1 ratio.

The best Completion percentage (over 10 passes) belonged to PS#11 Harrison Bailey from Tennessee at 70.6%% but only played in 6 games. 2nd best percentage was DJ Uiagalelei of Clemson with 66.7%.

Overall the Top 50 true freshman quarterbacks threw for 9,342 yards completing 59.9% of their passes with 65 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. Of those true frosh quarterbacks that did not play last year, you can expect many of them to see action in 2021.
