2017 Top 50 True Freshman WR’s and their Impact on the season.

We will continue on with the 2017 Top 50 true freshman today and talk about the wide receivers. Similar to the RB position, more true freshman had an impact this past year for their team. 32 (64%) of the Top 50 wide receivers contributed in the 2017 season.

The closest player to 1,000 yards was Oklahoma’s PS#27 CeeDee Lamb with 807 yards (17.5) and 7 touchdowns. CeeDee was also named HM Big 12 offensive player of the year (CCh). Next on the list is PS#33 Jalen Reagor of TCU 576 yards (17.5) and 8 touchdowns.  3rd PS# 9 Jhamon Ausbon of Texas A&M had the most rec of the group with 50 for 571 yards (11.4) and 3 touchdowns.

The top yards per catch in this group with at least 10 or more receptions goes to PS#11 Jeff Thomas of Miami with 22.0 ypc on 17 receptions. A close 2nd with 20.3 ypc on 17 receptions was PS#4 Tee Higgins of Clemson. Right behind Higgins was Alabama’s PS#26 Henry Ruggs with 19.1 ypc on 12 receptions also with 6 touchdowns!

Out of the Top 50, 16 players recored at least 1 touchdown in 2017. The top 2 guys were listed above on the yards leaders Jalen Reagor (8) & CeeDee Lamb (7).

The Top 50 wide receivers from the 2017 class combined for 6,533 yards, 52 touchdowns and 12.8 yards per catch.
