VALUE PLAYS: SATURDAY EARLY SLATE
Brenden Motley, Va Tech QB ($5300) vs. Purdue:
Motley is starting for the injured Michael Brewer and looked decent last week in his first start against Furman. He can make plays with his legs and has a nice matchup with Purdue in Week Three. Motley could make enough plays against the Boilers to exceed value and allow DFS players to load up at other positions. Expect Motley to be a solid #2 QB on DK this week.
DeAndre Ferby, Western Kentucky RB ($5300) vs. Indiana:
With stud Leon Allen out for the season and Anthony Wales also expected to miss this week, Ferby could be in line for all the work he can handle. He came on in relief of Allen last week against La Tech and responded with 55 total yards and a score. Ferby could find plenty of success against an Indiana defense that has been pathetic in 2015. This game could easily go over 80 points and Ferby could play a big role in all of the fantasy goodness. He could be the best point per dollar player in this game slate and could crush value against the Hoosiers.
Markell Jones, Purdue RB ($3900) vs. Virginia Tech:
This true freshman has three total touchdowns in the first two games and is starting to show why he was such a highly touted recruit. He has shown good hands out of the backfield and could make some plays against a VT defense that has not played up to standards thus far in 2015. Jones provides some much needed salary relief on DK this week. Take a shot on this Boilermaker.
Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky WR ($6300) vs. Indiana:
Taylor is coming off a 97 yard and one score effort against La Tech and could crush those totals against Indiana this week. This could be the fantasy game of the year and his price is simply too low considering his ceiling. The Hoosiers pass defense has allowed 347 yards per game passing and seven passing touchdowns in 2015. The Hilltoppers could shred them this week and it may be very wise to have a decent amount of exposure to Taylor and company. Expect Taylor to easily cross the 100-yard mark and likely score a time or two against the Hoosiers.
Geronimo Allison, WR Illinois ($6300) vs. UNC:
Allison is the leading receiver for Illinois this season and could post a big stat line in Week Three against North Carolina. We like Wes Lunt to have success throwing against the Tar Heels and Allison could see plenty of targets. Expect Allison to torch the UNC secondary on a couple of occasions and easily exceed his mid-level price tag this week. Ride Geronimo ride…..
Penny Hart, Georgia State WR ($3700) vs. Oregon:
Hart has 203 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions in the first two games and looks to be a top option in the Georgia State passing game. He is playing the slot for injured star Donovan Harden and is flourishing in the role. This little guy has plenty of ability and moves to make some plays against Oregon this week. Expect the Panthers to be throwing all day long in catch up mode against the Ducks and Hart could be the beneficiary. Take a stab with Hart at minimum price.
VALUE PLAYS: SATURDAY LATE SLATE
Jerrod Heard, Texas QB ($6400) vs. Cal:
Heard had two touchdown throws and 96 yards on the ground last week against Rice and appears to have the starting job for now. He could have a bit of a coming out party with this primetime matchup with Cal. The Bears defense is simply not very good and could allow plenty of big plays to Heard this week. With tight pricing on this game slate, Heard could be a productive source of cap relief.
Brian Hill, Wyoming RB ($5800) vs. Washington State:
He’s back! DFS players will likely recall his five game stretch to end last season when he totaled 746 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. This could be the start to another big run as Hill ran for 242 yards and two scores last week and has vaulted to the #1 RB slot for the Cowboys. He will be facing the 108th ranked rush defense of the Cougars and could easily crush his price point. Ride Hill often on Saturday night.
Dalyn Dawkins, Colorado State RB ($4700) vs. Colorado:
Dawkins ran for 92 yards and a score last week against Minnesota and could top those totals in a Week Three matchup with Colorado. He could find it much easier to rack up the yards this week and is a decent bet to go over the 100-yard mark on the ground. Expect Dawkins to reach value against the Buffs and also carry a low ownership percentage in GPP play this week.
Courtland Sutton, SMU WR ($5000) vs. TCU:
Sutton has scored three times in the first two weeks and is averaging 20.4 DK points per game. This freshman is already the top wide out for SMU and has developed a strong connection with Matt Davis. This game could be very high scoring and Sutton could post big numbers. Expect this Mustang to go over the 100-yard mark and likely find the end zone against the Horned Frogs.
Drew Morgan, Arkansas WR ($4300) vs. Texas Tech:
Morgan will be taking the spot vacated by the injured Keon Hatcher and could see plenty of targets in that role. He will be facing a Texas Tech pass defense that struggles to stop anybody and could easily reach value. Morgan could be a nice source of salary relief this week. Don’t be surprised to see Morgan make some big plays against the Red Raiders in Week Three.
